Duties

Reporting through the E-Division Major Case Management Operational Service Centre (MCMOSC), the Client Service Coordinator (CSC) provides operational support through client service activities, inclusive to electronic-Major Case Management (e-MCM). CSCs represent the MCMOSC program, acting as the primary point of contact for Senior Investigators, Civilian Members and Public Service Human Resources within their respective portfolios.

CSC objectives and key responsibilities include:
• The provision of advanced and individualized eMCM solutions to divisional operations within their respective portfolio.
• Strategic Planning both within their portfolio, and as a collaborative participant in Program Level initiatives.
• Leading accountability measures both within their portfolio and at the Program Level.
• Formulating, developing and delivering, specialized training materials, courses, workshops, developmental pathways, and SOPs.
• Negotiating, on behalf of the MCMOSC Program, unit level agreements for eMCM support or assignment agreements.

This position is also responsible for the direct supervision, training and performance management of the subordinate Information Systems Application Specialists.

Work environment

This position is located in a law enforcement environment which includes regular contact with uniformed and armed police officers. You may be exposed to highly sensitive and confidential information, which may be of a graphic nature that may have a strong emotional impact. Graphic material may include, but is not limited to, murder scenes and assault victim(s), autopsy photos, 911 audios and material relating to child exploitation investigations.

The Major Case Management Operational Service Centre is located out of the RCMP “E” Division Headquarters, 14200 Green Timbers Way, in beautiful Surrey, BC. Headquarters is situated near the heart of downtown Surrey, near Skytrain, transit and the Guildford Mall. The facility hosts a cafeteria, Tim Hortons, and a gym. There are many free health and fitness classes as well as sports leagues to participate in, such as Yoga, Zumba, Meditation, Badminton, Soccer, and Tabata to name a few. There are also walking trails right at the entrance to the building.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is staff one full-time indeterminate position.

A qualified group of candidates may be identified and may be used to staff future vacancies (including similar positions, on a temporary or permanent basis, at full or part time hours).

Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM.

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in information administration, information management, or related field relevant to the work to be performed
OR
A secondary school diploma and extensive* experience in a relevant operational information management function within a law enforcement environment.

*Extensive experience refers to experience normally associated with performance of the duties on a full-time basis over a consecutive period of five (5) years

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
(EX1) Recent and significant** experience managing information in a relational database.
(EX2) Recent and significant** experience working within the electronic disclosure function.
(EX3) Recent experience* in supervision of employees including mentoring and performance management.
(EX4) Experience in preparing and delivering training sessions or presentations.
(EX5) Recent and significant** experience in creating reports using Business Intelligence (BI) applications such as Crystal Reports and SQL Server Reporting.

*Recent experience refers to experience acquired during the last 2 years.
**Recent and significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience associated with the performance of duties on a continuous basis over approximately 2 years within the last 3 years.

Conditions of employment

Obtain a valid RCMP security clearance at a minimum of Enhanced Reliability Status. Some positions may require Secret or Top Secret security clearance.
