WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW:

• This process is open to persons residing in Canada and Canadian citizens residing abroad.

• We wish to staff four (4) bilingual AS-05 positions within the Human Resources Services Branch.

LOCATION & TELEWORK

Virtual work reporting is possible in designated workplaces (footprint) stated above as established by ESDC's Human Resources Services Branch. Note due to COVID-19, the work will be done via telework until further notice.

Appointments in non-footprint sites may be considered for employees of ESDC occupying a substantive position within the Human Resources Services Branch, but working outside the footprint locations noted above.

HOW TO APPLY:

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff four (4) indeterminate AS-05 Business Analyst positions.

A pool of qualified candidates resulting from this process will be created and may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures using various staffing mechanisms and with various bilingual profiles (bilingual imperative CBC/CBC and BBB/BBB) within ESDC across Canada.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION

A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

Experience gathering, analyzing and documenting user requirements.

Recent* and significant** experience compiling and analyzing information or data from various sources and creating reports.

Significant** experience using Excel, such as conditional formatting, advanced charting, pivot tables and macros.

Experience using PeopleSoft (Version 8.9 or higher).

Experience developing and maintaining working relationships with stakeholders and clients.

Experience presenting analysis results and recommendations to clients or management (manager level and up).

*Recent experience is defined as the experience acquired within the last five (5) years.
**Significant refers to the depth and breadth of experience associated with the performance of a broad range of related activities which were primarily the candidate's responsibility. It will be assessed on the basis of the scope and complexity. It is normally acquired over a period of two (2) years.

Project Management Certificate.
Business Analysis Certificate.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

Experience working with a Human Resources Management System in a technical (IT) or functional (HR) support capacity.

Experience using IBM Cognos.

Experience using SQL.

Experience using SAS.

Experience coding with HTML.

Experience working in SharePoint or designing SharePoint site.

Experience developing and delivering presentations.

Experience building dashboards.

KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of business analysis techniques and best practices.
Knowledge of the IM/IT project management principles and practices.

ORGANISATIONAL NEED
