This process will establish a pool of qualified candidates that may be used to staff similar positions with various tenures within Finance and Administration Branch in the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada.

VERY IMPORTANT NOTE:
Candidates MUST provide a cover letter as the cover letter and resume will be used to assess your ability to communicate effectively in writing. In this document, you must provide concrete and detailed examples to clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience requirements listed in the essential qualifications and asset qualifications section. The screening board cannot make any assumptions about your experience. It is not sufficient to say that you have the required qualifications or to list your current duties. One effective approach would be to use the wording of each experience criterion as a heading and then write one or two paragraphs demonstrating that you have the required experience and ensure that clear and accurate details are provided. The resume may be a secondary source to confirm the experience described in the cover letter.
Education:
• Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary program with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics or possession of the Government of Canada Financial Management Certificate.
Experience:
• Recent* and significant** experience in reconciling, compiling and validating financial information to support management decision-making
• Recent* and significant** experience in (1) or more of the following areas:
- accounting operations
- budgeting and forecasting
- financial analysis
- accounting analysis
- financial transactions processing
• Recent* experience in providing guidance on financial procedures or policies to advise and support clients
*Recent refers to last three (3) years
**Significant refers to depth and breadth of experience obtained relevant to financial operations or management in a one (1) year duration

Asset Qualifications:
• Possess a valid professional accounting designation (CPA)
Asset Experience:
• Experience in an accounting office/business management office in more than one of the following accounting field(s):
- account verification
- reconciliation
- accounts payable
- accounts receivable
• Experience in using SAP Integrated Financial Management System.
• Experience in a supervisory role.
• Experience with the Business Intelligence Tool within a finance management system.
• Experience in using Salary Forecasting Tool and salary reconciliation.
• Advance experience in using Excel.
Organizational Needs:
• Placement of employees subject to current or future reorganization.
