Objective Exercise for Personnel in Administrative Functions
The OEPAF is a competency evaluation tool used in staffing processes for administrative support positions. This skills test contains multiple choice questions. The scenarios are related to setting priorities, data entry, administrative document verification, and communication skills. This test will be used to evaluate the following merit criteria:
Ability to transmit information
Detail-oriented
Being organised
Action-oriented
The retest period for the OEPAF is 180 days. If you submit an application before the retest period has elapsed, your application will not be considered.
At this time, there is two (2) vacancy in Grande Prairie, Alberta.
Applicants are encouraged to apply ONLY if they are willing and able to work in or relocate to Grande Prairie.
Candidates from outside the federal public service will be required to pay for their own travel (including travel for assessment purposes), and may be required to pay for their own relocation expenses.
This process will initially be used to staff two position on an indeterminate basis and to establish a pool of qualified candidates with various tenures (i.e. indeterminate, term, deployment, acting, assignment and secondment).
Should a CM be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to another category for the member

EDU - Successful completion of two years of secondary school or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience*
*Proof of education will be required prior to appointment
Ex1 - Experience in the provision of administrative support services including four of the following: data entry, transcription, electronic and/or paper based records management, preparing correspondence, ordering office supplies, filing, or processing mail
Ex2 - Experience in using computer applications including three of the following: databases, email, spreadsheets or word processing
Ex3 - Experience providing service to internal or external clients / general public, via telephone or in person.
A2 - Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
AEdu - Successful completion of Secondary School education
AEx1 - Experience providing administrative support services in a law enforcement and/or legal environment.
AEx2 - Experience liaising with court representatives or officials, or preparing court disclosure packages.
AEx3 - Training and/or experience in providing financial support services such as the collection and recording of monies received, handling petty cash funds, verifying supplier invoices, preparing invoices.
AEx4-Experience in manipulating data in an electronic database
AEx5-Experience in providing records management services such as indexing, cross-referencing, filing, retrieving, retaining, archiving or destroying data
AEx6- Experience preparing documents such as letters, memoranda, briefing notes or reports
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
O1 - Willing and able to work in a busy police environment, including exposure to unsettling and/or graphic material.
O2 - Willingness and ability to work overtime, as required.
O3 - Willingness and ability to obtain and maintain a valid Class 5 driver’s licence.
O4 - Willingness and ability to occasionally travel for work or training purposes using various modes of transportation including small aircraft.

Reliability Status security clearance - » Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain a RCMP Security Clearance throughout their employment. Positions filled will have security clearance requirements at the following levels: RCMP Reliability Status, Secret or Top Secret. This requires a Security/Reliability Interview, and a field investigation in matters of Criminal Activities, credit/finances, education, employment, reference, etc.
