EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience managing major* projects, ship refit or in-service projects in the marine transportation sector.
Experience briefing management on complex** issues.
Experience managing financial resources***.
Experience managing technical or support staff****
Experience using project management processes and principles.
DEFINITIONS:
*A major project is defined as a project over $5M.
**Complex issues are defined as being highly technical, novel, multidimensional, precedent-setting or that could have a major impact on the organization or stakeholders.
***Managing financial resources is defined as being accountable for a budget, which would include the responsibility for financial planning, forecasting and reporting. Applicants must indicate the size of the budget they managed, as well as the length of time during which they managed these resources.
****Managing technical or support staff is defined as directing or overseeing people/staff, including employee performance management, workload management, leading and directing teams through the setting of priorities and work activities. Applicants must indicate the number of staff reporting to them, as well as the length of time during which they managed these individuals.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS :
Graduation with a degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Recognized Project Management diplomas and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certified designation.
Certified as an Engineering Technologist.
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in an engineering field.
Bilingual - Imperative (BBB/BBB)

CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT:
Secret security clearance.
