The IT Assets Administrator (CR-05) position is an exceptional opportunity within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) K Division Informatics Program within the IT Assets Unit. You will be responsible for providing administrative and support services to the Division Informatics Officer, the Informatics Operational Support Manager and the IT Assets Manager within an asset management environment. Working effectively with external procurement partners (e.g. Shared Services Canada, North West Region Procurement), vendors, and internal clients, you will facilitate the procurement of informatics goods and services for K Division. The IT Asset Administrators manage informatics assets from initial order through disposal, and adheres to Information Technology (IT) asset procurement, inventory and maintenance policies for the RCMP. You will perform contract management for leased multi-function devices within the Division. This position is involved with RCMP IT initiatives such as the deployment of Android devices, and the upgrade of the existing inventory tracking software to the new platform.
The IT Systems Access Coordinator (AS-01) position is another excellent opportunity within the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) K Division Informatics Program within the IT Systems Access unit. You will provide systems access coordination support services to the Division Informatics Officer, the Informatics Operational Support Manager and the IT Systems Access Supervisor ensuring we meet our high service delivery standards to our clients in Alberta. Utilizing your strong attention to detail skills you will provide the account creation and maintenance of all RCMP and Provincial computer systems access to users, ensuring compliance with required security levels, procedure, policy and legislation in the administration of access. You will use your strong client service skills to advise clients throughout the Division on the programs and services by providing a single point of contact on issues related to RCMP automated systems as well as Provincial policing partner systems.
This is an anticipatory staffing process designed to create a pool of qualified candidates. The pool of qualified candidates may be used to staff future indeterminate and /or temporary CR-05 and AS-01 vacancies in Edmonton, AB within the RCMP. In the event of a temporary vacancy, the following staffing actions may be used and / or considered: acting appointment, term appointment, assignment or secondment.
Should a Civilian Member (CM) be found qualified and selected for appointment, the appointment will not result in a change of status to the Public Service (PS) category for the CM. Information regarding the CM appointment will be sent to all applicable candidates who are within the area of selection and participated in the advertised process.

Secret security clearance
Successful applicants will be required to obtain and maintain an RCMP Security Clearance throughout their employment. Depending on the position requirements, the security clearance requirement will be at one of the following RCMP levels: Reliability Status, Secret or Top Secret. This requires a Security/Reliability Interview, a field investigation in matters of Criminal Activities, credit/finances, education, employment, reference, etc.
