Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) helps the Government of Canada serve Canadians. As LEASING OFFICER, you will be responsible for:

- Assists in the conduct of the studies of the real estate market for leased accommodation in the support of the directorate's authoritative advisory service and the delivery of client's transactional lease requirements.
- Provides research data derived from market information and analysis of same as part of the project development process and in the support of decisions taken within the directorate.
- Assists in the preparation and implementation of lease and build lease tender calls and participates in the analysis and evaluation of bids received.
- Assists in the negotiation of lease space consistent with cost, time and quality restraints.
- Participates in specialized internal and external leasing, real estate and finance training courses, attends industry seminars and conferences and completes on-the-job training assignments including personal coaching sessions and developmental project assignments which are assessed as part of the programs progressive promotional process.
- Participates on project teams, which are responsible for the planning, development and delivery of accommodation projects/services; under the guidance of senior level leasing officers, provides project support services and research/information for clients and Client Service Units.
- Develops communication links and effective working relationships with Sector colleagues, Real Property Services specialists in other Sectors, the private real estate sector, and professional associations.
- Monitors trends and developments in the field of commercial lease/letting and shares the information with peers.
- Imputs, manipulates, and retrieves data/information and documentation on inventory of real property holdings using automated business information management/information technology (IM/IT) systems.

Intent of the process

A pool of partially qualified candidates may be established to staff AS-02 positions that are included in Professional Development and Apprenticeship Program of Real Property within Public Services and Procurement Canada, with a bilingual imperative BBB/BBB profile and a reliability security status. Positions may only be staffed on an indeterminate basis as a result of this process. The developmental program consist in theoretical and on the job training components, this provides interns with the required skills they need to become AS-05 Real Property's professionals. Interns starts at the AS-02 group/level and works towards obtaining the AS-05 group/level upon completion of the program; given that interns meet the competency standards and have taken the theory courses required. Primary responsibility for learning and professional development rests with the intern. Please note that the linguistic profile mentioned applies only to the AS-02 level. Promotions at an higher level may require a linguistic profile Bilingual Imperative CBC/CBC.

EXPERIENCE
- Experience in service delivery to clients.
- Experience in office space leasing OR accommodation management OR acquisition and disposal of real property OR building management.

ORGANIZATIONAL NEEDS

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Interns must be prepared to travel occasionally.
- Interns must hold a valid driver’s licence.
