Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to create a pool of qualified candidates to staff the following positions at Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada in Whitehorse, Yukon:
► Administrative Support – Director’s Office.

The pool of qualified candidates will also be used to staff similar or identical position at Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada (CIRNAC) or other federal departments and agencies located in Whitehorse, Yukon, with various tenures, linguistic profiles or security requirements.

Although the intent is to staff positions in Whitehorse, Yukon, alternative working arrangements including telework or a flexible schedule may be available and will be determined on a case by case basis dependent on operational feasibility at the time of hiring.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

► EDUCATION:
- A secondary school diploma OR an acceptable combination of education, training, and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

► EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in providing administrative support services (for example, but not limited to: managing agendas, scheduling and organizing meetings/teleconferences, preparing and collating meeting file folders and background materials, procuring office equipment and supplies, maintaining a filing system, and other related duties).
- Experience in the use of various software programs such as: Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook and Powerpoint.
- Experience working in a northern and isolated community.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS (Not essential, but preference may be given to candidates who possess asset qualifications).

► EDUCATION:
- Successful completion of post-secondary education related to the position.

Degree equivalency

► EXPERIENCE:
- Experience providing administrative support in finance.
- Experience providing administrative support in records management.
- Experience providing support to senior managers.
- Experience preparing and coordinating travel arrangements.
