Assessment accommodation

This position is located in Ottawa. As a result of the global pandemic, OSFI employees are currently working from home. Should the current telework environment no longer apply, you will be required to report to and work onsite from the Ottawa office.

Duties

This position is responsible for assisting the Communications Services team in the provision of translation services.

OSFI supervises and regulates federally registered banks and insurers, trust and loan companies, as well as private pension plans subject to federal oversight.

Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one position with a language requirement of bilingual imperative BBB/BBB on an indeterminate basis.

This selection process may be used to establish a pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates, which could be used to staff similar or identical positions with various tenures (indeterminate, term, acting, etc.), linguistic profiles and/or security requirements (reliability, secret, etc.) within the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
- Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in one of the following: translation, communications, French literature, linguistics or another related field;
OR
- An acceptable combination of education, experience and/or training.

Degree equivalency

- Recent* experience in coordinating, tracking and maintaining records
- Recent* experience creating reports
- Recent* experience formatting documents and creating templates using different software programs

As a Separate Agency, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) appoints employees in accordance with the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). OSFI is named in Schedule V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and it offers the same pension and benefits plans as the core Federal Public Service. In addition to this, OSFI employees obtain a minimum of 4 weeks of vacation leave per year, earn a competitive salary, and are eligible for an annual performance bonus.
