The Integrated Business Management Services directorate provides internal services to employees of the Canadian Coast Guard including workforce development, workplace well-being, training coordination, and business management.
As a Training and Onboarding Team Leader, you will play a key role in providing leadership, analysis, recommendations, business data and information to support the Canadian Coast Guard Atlantic Region training and onboarding programs. You will oversee a small team of two officers and will be responsible for assigning work, providing mentorship/coaching, managing performance, implementing workplace accommodations and more.

This appointment process will initially be used to staff one, temporary, position in Dartmouth, NS. The assessment board may create a pool (i.e. list) of fully or partially qualified candidates which may be used to staff similar positions on an indeterminate or temporary basis within Fisheries and Oceans Canada and Canadian Coast Guard.
**Important: Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, employees of Integrated Business Management Services are currently working remotely. The department is actively working on a flexible, phased approach for the safe return of employees to their usual workspaces. Therefore, this opportunity will may initially be a remote working opportunity. When it is deemed safe for our branch to return to the workplace, the opportunity will be in Dartmouth, NS.

EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma (High School Diploma) or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience (e.g. GED or five years of relevant work experience).
EXPERIENCE:
Experience using an electronic, database, system to enter information, extract information and analyze information needed for business purposes.
Experience evaluating options and providing advice or recommendations to clients or leaders (e.g. management, heads of communities, etc.) that will best meet their business needs.
Experience providing effective supervision or leadership to employees (e.g. a team, a project or a unit).
