Intent of the process

CURRENT NEED:

To staff three (3) positions on a term or indeterminate basis.

FUTURE NEEDS:

This selection process may be used to staff similar positions with various linguistic requirements and profiles, various security requirements, various operational requirements and conditions of employment and/or various tenures within Health Canada.

EDUCATION

A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives.

- A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
- An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

EX1 Experience working in a high pressure or high volume security environment.
EX2 Experience managing and responding to emergency situations.
EX3 Experience providing client service.
EX4 Experience operating computer software, such as applications from the Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint or electronic tracking systems.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

Successful completion of post-secondary education in law enforcement or security.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE

AEX1 Experience preparing security incident reports.
AEX2 Experience working with electronic security systems such as closed circuit video equipment (CCVE) intrusion detection, access control systems or alarm systems.
AEX3 Experience operating multiple systems simultaneously such as a security console.
AEX4 Experience liaising with first responders such as police, RCMP, Ambulance and Fire.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Willingness and ability to work overtime on short notice.
2. Willingness and ability to patrol on foot or in a vehicle the perimeter of the buildings even during inclement weather.

OTHER CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

1. Willingness and ability to work rotational shifts of up to 12 hours per day, including; nights, weekends and designated holidays.
2. Possession of a valid class-G (Ontario) or Class 5 (Quebec) driver’s license.
