FCAC has its own classification system (RE and REX). The advertised positions are classified at the RE-05 level, which are equivalent to the position levels identified above.
The Senior Financial Analyst performs all corporate accounting functions for timely, complete and accurate reporting, and ensures effective and efficient delivery of financial services to all Agency divisions and employees.
Located in downtown Ottawa (but fully equipped to work virtually), FCAC is a small separate agency subject to the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). The intent of this process is to staff one term position within the Agency.

Your résumé.
Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce, or economics AND experience related to positions in the Financial Management Group or possession for a recognized professional accounting designation (CPA, CA, CMA, or CGA).
Recent* and significant** experience in analyzing and interpreting complex*** financial information, provide briefings and recommendations to senior management and clients;
Experience in the use of the SAP financial system;
Experience using Excel and pivot tables;
Recent*and significant** experience in the interpretation and application of financial acts, regulations, policies and directives within the federal government;
Recent* and significant** experience in the preparation of detailed analysis and submission of the monthly Trial Balance;
Recent* experience in the preparation of annual Departmental Financial Statements (DFS), Future-Oriented Statement of Operations (FOSO), Quarterly Financial Reports (QFR), or other external reporting; and
Recent* experience in the preparation of the Public Accounts of Canada.
* Recent experience is defined as experience acquired within the last five years.
** Significant experience is defined as experience in which the person’s primary responsibilities include these duties, and refers to the breadth and depth as well as to the complexity of the tasks that a person could be expected to have acquired by performing these duties over a period of approximately 24 months.
*** Complex refers to situations that require knowledge of many intricate or interconnected elements and of the relationships between these elements to arrive at a solution.
A recognized professional accounting designation (Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA));
Recent* and significant** experience in negotiating, establishing, and maintaining effective relationships with senior management**** and key stakeholders;
Experience using Business Intelligence reporting tools (for example, Cognos Business Intelligence or SAP Web Intelligence); and
Significant** experience in at least one of the following functions: accounting operations, corporate reporting, corporate accounting, budgeting, planning, costing, financial systems, internal controls, financial policies, or audit (internal or external).
