We are committed to providing an inclusive and barrier-free work environment, starting with the hiring process. If you need to be accommodated during any phase of the evaluation process, please use the Contact information below to request specialized accommodation. All information received in relation to accommodation will be kept confidential.
You will be required to show how you demonstrate the essential qualifications (i.e. Education and Experience) for the initial screening through answering online screening questions. It is NOT sufficient to only state that the qualifications are met or to provide a listing of current or past responsibilities. Rather you must clearly demonstrate HOW, WHEN, and WHERE the qualification was met through substantiation by examples. Information on your described skills, experience, etc. provided in screening questions should be supported by your resume. CANDIDATES WILL NOT BE SOLICITED FOR INCOMPLETE OR POSSIBLE MISSING INFORMATION.
Our work in Cabin Safety and Aviation Occupational Health and Safety varies day to day. You will be assigned a number of air operators to oversee and provide a level of service to the work that they generate and submit for review and approval. This will have an impact on how your day progresses. This requires an ability to be able to shift your work and adapt to changing priorities and demands. The companies that we provide this level of service to range in operations from Canadian Aviation Regulations (CAR) 703-705 operations. The importance of knowledge and experience in these areas will provide you with a regulatory understanding of the work conducted by the air operators.
One day you could be reviewing Flight Attendant Manual submissions and Flight Attendant Training program submissions. The next day you could be reviewing an air operator’s safety features card, an MEL review or conducting a fatality investigation as part of a team of 2 officers possibly taking you to the scene of the accident.
As an Inspector each day will bring different work and challenges as departmental priorities arise and you need to be able to react and adjust accordingly. This is a strong team environment where your skills and outputs are valued and measured.
We offer an extensive training program on how to be an inspector at Transport Canada. This training program consists of in-person, online and on the job training/shadowing.
Don’t miss this opportunity to join an established organization that values strong regulatory relationships with the Civil Aviation Industry and provides a good work/life balance environment.
The intent of this process is to staff one indeterminate position. An essentially qualified pool of candidates resulting from this staffing process will be established and may be used to fill similar positions with various tenures (Indeterminate and Term) depending on the position being staffed.
