The Healthy Environments and Consumer Safety Branch’s (HECSB) mission is to help Canadians to maintain and improve their health by promoting healthy and safe living, working and recreational environments and by reducing the harm caused by tobacco, alcohol, controlled substances, environmental contaminants, and unsafe consumer and industrial products.
The Safe Environments Directorate (SED) falls within HECSB and is working hard to promote healthy living, working and recreational environments by identifying and assessing health risks posed by environmental factors (specifically chemicals, drinking water, air quality, microbes, emerging technologies and development projects). SED is looking for keen policy analysts to work directly on or in support of these environmental health issues, some of which are world leading, such as the Chemicals Management Plan.
Looking for an organization that offers opportunities for interesting work? Come play an important role in one of the many interesting and exciting opportunities for policy analysts in this regulatory directorate, such as working directly on regulatory files, policy and program development/support and data analytics, as well as stakeholder engagement and public outreach. Interested in finding an organization with a positive work culture? Work alongside energetic, passionate and supportive staff and management to help address environmental health risks across Canada. SED staff truly care about their work and protecting the health of Canadians and are committed to doing so collaboratively across the Directorate, within the Health Portfolio and externally as well. SED is also well-known for its flexible work arrangements, employee engagement, throwing a good social and adding fun spins to their meetings, even now in this virtual environment. So, look no further - your potential new home in SED awaits!
