NOTE: This process is targeted to Aboriginal persons who will self-declare as an Aboriginal person. An Aboriginal person is a North American Indian or a member of a First Nation, Métis or Inuit. Intent of the process

This process aims to create and maintain an inventory of Aboriginal persons for casual, indeterminate or term appointments within Indigenous Services Canada. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to fill similar and lower-level positions with various tenures.

This process may also be used to offer acting appointments to Federal Public Service employees.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization relevant to the work to be performed or an acceptable combination* of education, training and experience. Acceptable combination* is defined as:

*The successful completion of two years of post-secondary education in a field relevant to the work to be performed and two years of experience in a field relevant to the work to be performed.

*The successful completion of a secondary school diploma and two years of experience working in a municipal, provincial, Federal or Indigenous government.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
• Experience in providing advice and recommendations to management.
• Experience in implementing or developing or delivering programs and/or projects.
• Experience in consulting with members of a community, communities and/or community organizations

• Law degree from a recognized post-secondary institution.
• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in accounting, public administration, business administration, Accounting designation CGA,CPA, CMA or Financial Planner.

Degree equivalency

• Experience in real estate development.
• Experience leading projects.
• Experience in working on projects as a team member.
• Significant* and recent* experience providing services to First Nations and/or First Nation organizations.

*Significant means for a minimum of 2 years
*Recent means in the last 5 years.

OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Willingness and ability to travel by various modes of transportation (small and large aircraft, vehicles and/or boats), in various weather conditions, often to remote communities with few amenities.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime.
• Willingness and ability to work by telework or work remotely.
• Willingness and ability to travel to Vancouver regional office for in person meetings.

• Possession of a valid driver’s licence or personal mobility to the degree normally associated with possession of a valid driver’s licence within the limits of the Treasury Board’s Travel Policy.
