Duties

The PM-04 positions are in the Fish and Fish Habitat Protection, Partnerships and Integrated Planning Division. Advisors (PM-04) are responsible for recommending grant and contribution applications, overseeing funding agreement negotiations, Aboriginal consultations and coordinating engagement with external partners (Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal).

Work environment

Fisheries and Oceans Canada’s Maurice Lamontagne Institute, located in Mont Joli, is one of the world’s major francophone marine sciences centres.

The Regional Ecosystems Management Branch has a mandate to conserve and protect freshwater and marine ecosystems in the Quebec region by implementing policies derived from federal legislation. Our structure has four main divisions: Marine Planning and Conservation; Fish and Fish Habitat Protection - Regulatory Reviews; Fish and Fish Habitat Protection - Partnerships and Integrated Planning; and Species at Risk Management.

Intent of the process

The intent of the process is to staff
- one (1) permanent position : Partnerships Advisor
- one (1) temporary position : Aboriginal Liaisons Advisor

A pool of qualified candidates will be established and may be used to staff similar positions, temporary and permanent, within the Department of Fisheries and Oceans in the Quebec region.

Studies:

Degree equivalency

Experience:
- Experience in providing advice and recommendations to clients, stakeholders or executives at various levels.
- Experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with clients, partners or stakeholders.
- Experience of consultations and relationships with government agencies, or non-governmental organizations, or Aboriginal representatives or various community groups.

Studies (asset):
- A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in administration or any other discipline relevant to this position.

Degree equivalency

Experience (asset):
- Experience in managing agreements, agreements or contracts and in organizing and holding meetings.
