Interview may be conducted via a video application. It is your responsability to have access to camera or inherent tools. Please note that this process will be used to staff positions in the National Capital Area. The positions will mostly be located in Gatineau, Quebec. If you are a candidate from the general public, you will have to pay for any travel expenses related to this staffing process, as well as any relocation costs if you are appointed from this process.
Candidates must respond to the screening questions by providing concrete examples which illustrate how they meet the essential qualifications. Candidates must provide their resumé when submitting their application via the website jobs.gc.ca (Public Service Resourcing System, PSRS). You must meet all essential qualifications to be appointed to the position. Other qualifications may be a deciding factor in choosing the person to be appointed. Essential and asset qualifications will be assessed through your application. It is your responsibility to provide appropriate examples that illustrate how you meet each qualification. The purpose of this process is to establish a pool of qualified candidates to staff various positions. The pool could also be used to staff similar positions including those with different security requirements and language profiles within Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).

EDUCATION
ED1- A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (see Note 1).
Note 1:
The employer-approved alternatives to a secondary school diploma are:
- A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
- An acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE
EX1- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e.Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access).
EX2- Experience in delivering services to the general public involving obtaining and providing information that requires explanation or clarification.
EX3- Experience in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

EXPERIENCE
AEX1- Recent* and significant**experience working in a Call Center environment.
AEX2- Experience in interpreting and applying legislation or policies.
AEX3- Experience working with Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) / Service Canada programs.
*Recent experience is defined as experience normally acquired within the last five years.
**Significant experience refers to the breadth and depth and is defined as a combination of time spent doing the activity (minimum of one consecutive year), as well as the type (range, scope and complexity, several stakeholders for instance) of work handled related to experience criteria. Clear and specific examples should be provided by candidates in their application and demonstrate evidence accountabilities and deliverables.

We will accept applications on-line only. Acknowledgment of receipt of applications will not be sent. We will only contact those applicants screened into the process. A variety of assessment tools may be used to assess candidates, such as standardized tests using electronic platforms, interviews, simulations, presentations, written examens, role play exercises or video recording tool. Evaluation tools may be administered electronically, others in person or via videoconference. It is your responsibility to have access to a camera and/or appropriate electronic equipment. Some volume management techniques could apply. At the time of assessment, proof of education will be required.
Candidates must meet all the Essential Qualification criteria to be appointed. However, applicants may be required to meet the Asset Qualifications depending on the requirements of the specific position being staffed. Manager approval is required for assignments or secondments.
You must indicate on your application if you require a technical aid for testing or an alternative method of assessment.
For in-person assessments, you will not be considered to be in travel status or on government business and that travel costs will not be reimbursed.

Reference checks will be sought.
A Second Language Evaluation testing may also be administered.
Indeterminate employees at the same group and level or equivalent may be considered for deployment. To be considered for a deployment, an application must be submitted.
Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
