Under the supervision of the electrical engineer, the mechanical technician must provide services and advice in building mechanical field for construction, alteration and renovation or maintenance projects of federal government buildings.
Main activities :
• Participate in monitoring and quality assurance activities, site supervision of building mechanical works (at the office and on the site) as well as technical review of the consultants' work to ensure compliance with the legislative framework of national and provincial codes and standards;
• Carry out surveys and drawings on DWG (Autocad) format of existing installations;
• Evaluate the construction cost budget and produce cost estimates for the work;
• Collaborate on engineering plans, specifications and drawings and in writing technical reports and studies

It will also be used to stablish a pool of qualified candidates to staff positions with permanent or temporary tenures and various security profiles for our offices in Quebec city and Montreal.

EDUCATION
Diploma of post-secondary Studies in building mechanical engineering technology or any other field related to the work.
EXPERIENCE
EXP-1 : Significant** experience* in the design and preparation of plans and specifications in the building mechanical field.
EXP-2 : Significant** experience* in the supervision of construction sites in the building mechanical field.
EXP-3 : Significant** experience* in construction cost estimation in the building mechanical field.

(*) Experience is defined as work-related experience acquired in the identified field following graduation from a post-secondary Studies speciality relevant to the position.
(**) Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience that would be usually acquired in approximately seven (7) years and obtained in the last ten (10) years.

KNOWLEDGE
K-1 : Knowledge in the field of building mechanical engineering’s legislative framework, standards and national codes.
K-2 : Knowledge in theory, principles and practices used in designing and construction of plumbing, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and regulation systems.
K-3 : Knowledge in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), particularly with AutoCAD software.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
•ASP Construction card holder.
•Knowledge of methods and software for HVAC systems.
•Knowledge in design in a BIM environment, particularly with Revit software.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENT
• Ability and willingness to work occasional overtime on short notice.
• Ability and willingness to go to construction sites
• Ability and willingness to travel within Canada from time to time.

• Have a driver’s license valid in Québec.
