Upon hiring, a 12-week period of mandatory training will take place from Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. You must be available for the entire duration of the training period. Passing the exam that follows this training period is essential to the continuation of employment.
As a Program Services Officer, your main task would be to help process effectively applications and demands related to the Old Age Security program. Among other things, you will have to:
• Analyze various information from clients’ tax returns, succession documents or civil status documents;
• Perform calculations and prepares estimates to determine corresponding eligibility and entitlement in accordance with prescribed procedures and guidelines; and
• Communicate with citizens, their representatives and third parties in writing and verbally to obtain and provide information and to provide explanation on decisions, legislation and procedures related to the Old Age Security program.

In the heart of Old Québec, 330 de la Gare du Palais Street is near restaurants, cycle paths, parks and trails that meander along the St. Lawrence River and the St. Charles River. The location is easily accessible and serviced by several main bus routes and the ferry.
You will have to be able to get to your workplace at Gare du Palais every day, if required.

To create a pool of qualified candidates to staff at least 30 positions between October 2020 and January 2021. The assessment of the candidates will start in September 2020. Depending on the organization’s needs, other hiring may be done from this pool.
This selection process may be used to staff similar positions in various locations within Service Canada.

EDUCATION
Secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives (a satisfactory score on the PSC test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or an acceptable combination of education,training and (or) experience).

EXPERIENCE
Experience in using technology such as Microsoft Office Suite software ( Word/Excel/Outlook), other email, Internet;
Experience in providing services relative to the delivery of programs to the generic public, either in person with external clients, by telephone or by email, specifically involving obtaining and providing information requiring explanation or clarification.

EDUCATION
Graduation from a recognized post-secondary institution with a
degree in accounting, in administration or finance
EXPERIENCE
Experience in the performance of tasks related to accounting or financial activities and requiring mathematical operations such as filing tax returns for different types of client groups, distributing financial or insurance products and services, regularizing accounts and producing financial statements.
OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENT
