Intent of the process

A pool of pre-qualified or fully qualified candidates may be created to staff similar or identical positions with various tenure, various linguistic profiles and security requirements within the Courts Administration Service.

Candidates may be evaluated further, for specific opportunities, on qualifications that are deemed necessary, whether or not these qualifications have been listed on the job advertisement.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

At minimum, successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Degree equivalency

Minimum of one year of recent* experience in at least 3 of the following areas:
• Experience working with Network Access Controls systems such as Forescout
• Experience analysing and reviewing logs for the detection, investigation or prevention of IT Security breaches, attacks, vulnerabilities and threats
• Experience working with an Enterprise Firewall and Content Filtering such as Check Point
• Experience working with Intrusion Detection Systems and/or Intrusion Prevention Systems
• Experience with Vulnerability Assessment Solutions such as Nessus
• Experience in providing advice, guidance and recommendation in securing IT systems

Definition:
*Recent is defined as an experience having been acquired within the last five (5) years.

Graduation with diploma from a recognized college with specialization in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

Degree equivalency

• Any one of the following Certification:
Check Point Certified Security Administration (CCSA)
Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE)
Check Point Certified Security Master (CCSM)
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH)

Experience with securing cloud solutions such as; MS Azure, Office 365, SharePoint

Experience in securing wireless technologies

An assignment/secondment appointment is a temporary resourcing option. The approval of your substantive supervisor may/will be required before an offer can be made.

The assessment board reserves the right to contact references other than the ones submitted by the candidates (only within the Public Service), if found necessary, in order to make a suitable assessment of the candidates.

All the information collected during the selection process, from the time of application until the end of the process, will be used to assess the candidates.

Asset qualification(s) may be applied in this selection process.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
