Assessment accommodation

The following positions will be staffed via this selection process: Senior Advisor, Program Delivery/ Manager, Program Delivery/ Senior Program Officer/ Regional Program Development Advisor/ Team Leader / Senior Officer.

Work environment

Virtual work arrangements may be available and will be determined on a case by case basis dependent on operational feasibility at the time of hiring and the position to be staffed. Some positions require the selected candidate to work in the office. This will be determined by the hiring manager based on the duties of the position to be staffed.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions with various linguistic profiles and/or requirements as well as tenures (Acting, Assignment, Deployment, Secondment, Determinate, and Indeterminate appointments) and/or the security clearance (reliability or secret), which may vary according to the position being staffed.

EDUCATION:
A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of training and/or experience related to the work to be performed*.

*An acceptable combination of education, training and experience is defined as two or more of the following criteria:
• At least two (2) years of secondary school education
• Training courses/on-the-job training relevant to the position being staffed
• A minimum of three (3) years of experience relevant to the position being staffed

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:
1. Experience in analyzing complex issues and providing recommendations to management

2. Experience in preparing briefing material, presentations or reports

3. Experience in working collaboratively with various stakeholders*

* Stakeholders are defined as other Government Departments, Indigenous governments, external advisory bodies, organizations delivering services to First Nations communities. or First Nations communities.

4. Experience in addressing client concerns and resolving problems that may be related to a program or policy

5. Experience working with First Nations, Inuit or Métis people

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in health, social work, social sciences, early childhood education, or in any other field related to the work to be performed.

EXPERIENCE:
1. Experience working at Indigenous Services Canada.

2. Experience working on infrastructure projects.

3. Experience in chairing or leading committees or public consultations.

4. Experience working on projects that involve intergovernmental relations, including Federal, Provincial and First Nations government.

5. Experience in supervising or leading a team or project.

6. Experience in coordinating the development of policies, procedures and guidelines.

7. Experience conducting financial or program reviews.

8. Experience with Human Resources and Labour Relations.

9. Experience in managing human*** and financial**** resources.

*** Human resources management is defined as direct accountability for directing and managing staff. Examples of managing HR may include implementing HR strategies to ensure workforce capacity to meet operational needs, developing work plans, assigning work priorities, setting performance objectives and performance indicators to measure results, assessing performance, recruiting and resolving HR issues. Applicants must provide the number of staff they lead/supervise.

**** Management of financial resources is defined as direct accountability for managing a budget. 10. Experience in providing advice and guidance to First Nations and senior management on issues related to First Nation elections and Band Governance.

11. Experience in program delivery of Indian Moneys, or Treaty Annuities or Estates, or Registration and Membership.

14. Experience working on the implementation of Jordan’s Principle.

20. Experience managing staff in a call centre environment.
