A pool of qualified candidates resulting from this process will be established for all employment tenures on behalf of all federal government departments and agencies. There will be multiple position to fill from this pool in multiple geographic locations. The pool will be managed by the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat and will be open to federal government organizations. As a result, candidates may be contacted to be further assessed.

Education:
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with specialization in accounting, finance, business administration, commerce or economics AND experience related to positions in the Financial Management Group;
OR
Eligibility for a recognized professional accounting designation. The recognized professional accounting designations are Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA) or Certified General Accountant (CGA).
Experiences:
• Significant* experience in one (1) or more of the following areas**:
o Financial planning and budgeting
o Financial reporting
o Financial policy
o Financial Systems
o Internal Control
o Accounting Operations
o Auditing
o Tax programs or services
o Costing
** The 18-month duration may cover multiple areas listed above but must be cumulative not concurrent.
• Significant* experience providing financial advice and guidance to management or clients;
• Significant* experience in extracting, analyzing and reporting on financial information.
* Significant experience is defined as experience gained through a minimum of 18 months of full-time work. Work may include paid or volunteer work or graduate level research projects; however, academic coursework and undergraduate degree requirements will not be accepted.

*These documents include Treasury Board submissions, or Memorandum to Cabinet, or Order in Councils, or other material presented to central agencies, such as business cases, the Departments Results Report, the Departmental Plan, the Public Accounts, Main and Supplementary Estimates, Etc.

Information on employment equity
If this process is for an acting appointment, the Public Service Employment Regulations allow a federal government organization to exclude an appointee from having the official language proficiency indicated in the job advertisement. As an acting appointment of four months or more is an Appointment under the Public Service Employment Act you are required to meet the linguistic profile of the position.
All of the information collected during the selection process, including behaviour and communication, from the time of application until the end of the process, may be used to evaluate candidates.
Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
