Immediate need is to staff 1 permanent position.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff identical or similar positions with various tenures (Indeterminate, Acting, Term, Deployment, Assignment, Secondment) and various language requirements within the Department of Public Services and Procurement Canada.

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a Master’s degree in Counselling, Social Services, Behavioural Sciences, Psychology or Educational Counselling from a recognized university.
OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATION:
A member in good standing (or eligible to be a member) with a professional association or college.
EXPERIENCE:
EXP 1: Recent* and significant** experience in providing short-term counselling to individuals with personal or work-related issues using various therapeutic approaches (such as: cognitive-behavioural, brief or solution-focused, choice therapy).
EXP 2: Recent* and significant** experience designing, coordinating and facilitating group well-being sessions.
EXP 3: Recent* experience in developing consulting relationships with managers and senior management in order to identify organizational issues that are impacting employees in the workplace.
“Senior Management” is defined as EX-1 and above
EXP 4: Recent* experience facilitating difficult conversations between managers and employees.
EXP 5:Experience in liaising with other health care professionals on client issues.
*Recent is defined as experience acquired within the past five years.
**Significant is defined as the depth and breadth of experience associated with the performance of a broad range of complex duties normally acquired over a period of approximately five years.

A4: Ability to counsel managers to deal with individuals who are experiencing well-being issues
A5: Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
ASSET EXPERIENCE:
AE1: Experience as an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Counsellor.
