Assessment accommodation

IMPORTANT: the chosen person will sometimes climb a ladder and scaffolding; it will have access to roofs and boiler rooms; it could end up in confined spaces; finally, it could be exposed to noise, dust, fumes, etc. He will need to wear personal protective equipment.

Duties

Reporting to the Regional Manager of Technical Services and Maintenance, you will be responsible for coordinating and implementing various safety programs under the Canada Labor Code. For example :
• Management of Legionella in HVAC systems;
• Inspections of pressure vessels and vertical transport devices;
• Management and coordination of building condition reports;
• Management and coordination of the commissioning program;
• Management of the quality insurance program in leases projects.

You are also responsible for providing technical advice on various services and issues regarding operation and maintenance activities to managers and service providers.
In addition, the candidate must:
• Participate in the preparation of quotes;
• Provide specialized technical services, especially with regard to mechanical, electrical and architectural elements
• Plan and implement a quality assurance program for the technical services provided by Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC),
• Provide technical advice to managers
• Coordinate commissioning activities, and ensure optimization of the performance of real estate assets (energy efficiency, lifespan and costs);
• Develop and implement maintenance management programs for new customers;
• Perform inspections of buildings and sites to ensure their compliance in terms of operation and maintenance.

Stream 1:
College diploma (DEC) or attestation (ACS) in building systems engineering technology (221.CO) or in a field relevant to the position.

Stream 2:

Diploma of College Studies (DEC) or College Certificate (ACS) on Electrical Engineering, Electrodynamics Profile, or in a field related to the position, or another diploma and attestation.

Stream 1
EXP 1-Recent and meaningful experience (Note 1) in delivering technical and specialized advice on complex issues concerning mechanical building systems
EXP 2-Recent and meaningful experience (Note 1) in conducting technical surveys of mechanical and auxiliary systems, assessing their condition and recommending any necessary corrective measures

Stream 2
EXP 3- Recent and meaningful experience (Note 1) in delivering technical and specialized advice on complex issues concerning electrical building systems
EXP 4- Recent and meaningful experience (Note 1) in conducting technical surveys of electrical and auxiliary systems, assessing their condition and recommending any necessary corrective measures.

Note 1:
“Recent” experience means approximately two (2) years within the last five (5) years.
“Meaningful” experience means experience commensurate with the complexity and variety of the duties indicated.

Knowledge:

Stream 1 and 2:
CO 1-Knowledge of estimating methods used in this field.
CO 2- Knowledge of quality assurance principles.

Stream 1:
CO 3- Knowledge of codes governing building mechanical systems, such as the National Building Code, ASHRAE 55, ASHRAE 62.1 standards, MD 15161 – 2013, Control of Legionella in Mechanical Systems.

Stream 2 :
CO 4- Knowledge of codes governing electrical systems, such as the Canadian electrical Code, ASHRAE and the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings 2011, CSA Z462 – Workplace electrical safety.
