Intent of the process

This process will be used to staff one (1) indeterminate position. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar term, or indeterminate positions, acting, assignment, deployment and secondment with different linguistic and security profiles.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

ED1: Graduation with a doctoral degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with a specialization in clinical psychology or equivalent (equivalence in training would be determined by the provincial registration/licensing body if the registration/licensing body assigns areas of practice).

Degree equivalency

OCC1: Registration for autonomous and unrestricted practice of psychology by a provincial or a territorial registering/licensing body in the province of intended practice.

EXPERIENCE

EX1: Significant* and recent** experience working in an adult mental health care environment and providing psycho-diagnostic assessment and psychological treatment.

EX2: Recent** experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of health care programs or projects.

EX3: Recent** experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of mental health research and the integration of findings into clinical practice, reports, program and/or policy development.

* Significant experience is defined as experience associated with having performed a broad range of various related activities in an adult mental health care environment which would normally be acquired over a period of at least 3 years.

**Recent is defined as within the last 5 years

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS

AEX1: Experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of a health care program or project related to suicide prevention, intervention or postvention.

AEX2: Experience in the development, implementation and evaluation of research related to suicide, in the tracking of surveillance data and in the integration of findings into clinical practice, reports, program and/or policy development.

AEX3: Experience in evaluating and recommending professional development training needs for health care professionals.

AEX4: Experience in preparing and presenting reports and making recommendations related to sensitive files to senior management, high media, and/or for access to information inquiries.

AEX5: Experience on a patient-family advisory committee for treatment and program planning.

AEX6: Experience working with mental health programs, activities or initiatives related to suicide prevention, intervention or postvention in a federal or provincial department/organization.
