Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one position with a language requirement of bilingual imperative CCC/CCC on an indeterminate basis.

This selection process may be used to establish a pool of partially qualified and/or qualified candidates, which could be used to staff similar positions.

Education

Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university, with an acceptable specialization in education, linguistics, literature, law or in a related field.

Degree equivalency

Experience

Experience as a second language assessor.

Experience in the field of second languages (for example, but not limited to teaching, translating, writing, editing).

Experience interacting with a diverse clientele to provide high quality service.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

Asset qualifications

Experience in second language teaching (French or English) or in a related field.

Experience in developing language training and assessment tools.

Experience in the area of language orientation services.

Willingness to work overtime.

Candidates must be willing to work at immersion sessions, as required, which are held at various locations across Canada and for periods lasting up to two weeks.

Preference

Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
