Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s Human Resources Analytics unit is continuously exploring new technologies and innovative ways of delivering service to clients. We are making flexible use of our existing reporting systems in PeopleSoft, and we are building local expertise with Business Intelligence software.
We are looking for an established employee with PeopleSoft expertise as well as experience extracting and providing data and reporting products to clients. Client service orientation, analytical thinking, and commitment to continuous learning are the key competencies we’re looking for. We also work collaboratively – brainstorming together and respecting diverse perspectives to achieve better results, and we want you to join our team!

The immediate need is to staff this AS-04 position indeterminately.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions.

Your résumé.
• A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
If you have foreign credentials, please follow the link below for information on how to obtain a degree equivalency. You must obtain an equivalency, at your own expense, in order to be considered for appointment into the public service.
• Significant* experience in extracting data using the Human Resources Management System (HRMS) PeopleSoft version 8.9 or greater.
• Experience using MS Access and/or MS Excel to manipulate data and/or to create databases.
• Experience in extracting, compiling and manipulating information/data from various sources.
• Experience in assessing problems and proposing effective solutions within short timeframes.
• Experience in documenting business processes or procedures.
*Significant is defined as two years experience acquired in the last five years.
• Experience with Business Intelligence solutions such as Cognos BI, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, or similar packages to create reports and/or queries.
• Experience proposing opportunities for streamlining processes or finding areas where efficiency can be achieved.
• Experience in delivering training and/or system demos or developing training material.
• Experience using SQL
