To be considered for Research Affiliate Program (RAP) work opportunities, you must meet the following criteria:
Be recognized as having full-time student status by the post-secondary academic institution at which you are currently enrolled (proof will be required).
Be the minimum age to work in the province or territory where the job is located.
In collaboration with research scientist and engineers, conduct and deliver research projects in separation chemistry applied to mineral processing and related environmental fields. As a specialist in separation chemistry, conceive new concepts, instrumentation and theoretical and experimental approaches to adapt existing techniques to novel situation and to make significant of new ideas and proposals for research and development. Plan, study and coordinate the collection of scientific information related to projects in applied to separation chemistry. Participate in focused technical committees and identify future needs for research related to own area of expertise.
Student will be hired through the Research Affiliate Program (RAP) with the purpose to accomplish research and complete a thesis or dissertation.

Successful completion of a Bachelor Program in a recognized post-secondary Canadian academic institution with specialization in Analytical Chemistry; and/or Environmental Chemistry or closely related discipline. Be recognized as a MSC student having full-time student status by the post-secondary Canadian academic institution at which you currently enrolled.
Experience in separation of uranium and actinide elements by ion exchange resins.
Experience in sample preparation and radioisotopes analysis using ICP-MS/MS.
Experience in maintaining quality control to ensure sample integrity.
Knowledge of radioprotection method
Knowledge of actinide separation method by ion exchange.
Knowledge of Inductively Coupled Mass Spectrometer (ICP-MS/MS) analytical techniques
Experience in extraction and analytical method for actinides elements analysis.
Experience using digestion protocols for inorganic chemical analysis.
Experience in maintaining quality control to ensure sample integrity.
