Duties

As a member of multidisciplinary teams composed of government employees and, where necessary, private sector stakeholders:
i. participates in the conduct of analysis used to develop policy papers, briefing materials and business cases on Branch projects and initiatives, and obtains approval to implement proposals and activities;
ii. analyzes and assesses policies, directives and guidelines in areas relating to SSC’s programs and initiatives, and report on the results of the work done by these teams.
iii. performs statistical, sociological and economic analysis of issues relating to the SSC’s mandate generally, and Next Generation HR & Pay Initiative specifically.

The Department is mandated to deliver email, data centre and telecommunication services, including videoconferencing and Wi-Fi to partner organizations – and to deliver on the Next Generation HR & Pay Initiative.

EDUCATION:

Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.

1. Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

2. An indeterminate incumbent of a former ES position on June 30, 1967 who became an EC on June 22, 2009, who does not possess the minimum level of education as indicated for Part A above is deemed to meet this minimum educational standard based on his/her education, training and/or experience

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

EX1: Experience in conducting research

EX2. Experience in the preparation of business cases, presentation decks, reports or other briefing materials for management with advice, options, potential risks or recommendations.

EX3: Experience in the development and delivery of strategies (including planning, organization, delivery, or review).

EX4: Experience working in multi-disciplinary teams or working groups.

EX5: Experience in using Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, etc.)

ABILITIES:

AB1: Ability to communicate effectively in writing*.
