Assessment accommodation

Duties

• Develop familiarity with new GCWorkplace fit-up standards and change management principles (currently being introduced nationwide).
• Prepare Terms of Reference for architectural consultant contracts (functional programming, change management, schematic design, etc.).
• Manage contracts for architectural services (see above note) and coordination of information and client contacts required by those consultants.
• Prepare conceptual / schematic design of interior fit-up projects for government clients, including confirmation of space requirements, test-fits, etc.
• Review conceptual / schematic design by consultants and assess the degree to which they meet GCWorkplace criteria.
• Review heritage information for various Government of Canada buildings and prepare reports.
• Collaborate with other staff members to facilitate their preparation of cost estimates, schedules and various other planning tools.
• Other related duties within this knowledge area.

Intent of the process

The intent of this appointment process is to establish a fully assessed pool of qualified candidates. The immediate use of the pool will be to staff one (1) term position in Toronto. However, the results of this process may be used to staff similar or identical positions for future vacancies of various tenures in various locations within Public Services and Procurement Canada in the Ontario Region.

In order to be considered, your application must clearly explain how you meet the following (essential qualifications)

Degree in Architecture from a recognized post-secondary institution.

Degree equivalency

Licensed as an Architect in Canada

1. Significant* and recent** experience in design of public building such as, but not limited to conceptual/schematic design, design development, or construction documents,
2. Significant* and recent** experience in the planning and design of corporate/office interiors such as, but not limited to functional programming, space planning, or conceptual design,

Significant* is defined as the complexity and diversity of work which would normally be acquired over a period of approximately 5 years.
Recent** is defined as within the last 10 years from the closing date of this advertisement.

LEED AP Accreditation
WELL AP Accreditation

Experience working on Heritage Projects
Experience with Application of Risk Management techniques to projects
Experience with provision of the full range of architectural design services (pre-design to commissioning) for public buildings and/or office buildings.
Experience with provision of the full range of design services (pre-design to commissioning) for major (over 300m2) fit-ups of office/corporate interiors.
