Work environment

As Canada’s national police force, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) is a critical element of the Government of Canada’s commitment to providing for the safety and security of Canadians. By tackling crime at the municipal, provincial/territorial, federal and international levels, the RCMP provides integrated approaches to safety and security, and a consistent federal role and presence from coast to coast to coast.

The work is performed in an environment with intermittent distractions such as office noise and interruptions from telephone and visitors.

The incumbent has no control over the pace of work, and no errors are tolerated in the examination or analysis of samples in support of investigations, which can cause stress.

There is exposure in the laboratory to solvents, chemicals and to biological materials such as blood and flesh samples which can lead to exposure to HIV; and there is occasional requirement to wear protective clothing or equipment.

The RCMP offers exceptional careers, with opportunities for continued learning and growth to its employees. Join our team today!
