Recruit (Operations) are hired at the EC-01 group and level while Data Production and Dissemination / Operations Officer are hired at the EC-02 group and level, and Data Production and Dissemination Coordinator / Operations Coordinator are hired at the EC-03 group and level.

Your Work
Recruits are expected to perform some of the following duties:
• Assists in the editing, validation, marketing and dissemination of data and in the conduct of manual and automated operations
• Assists with the review of collection results and the assessment of data quality
• Provides users with statistical data and tabulations
Assists in providing advice on collection methods and procedures and in developing reference and training materials
Operations Officers expected to perform the following duties:
• Participates in the implementation, conduct and maintenance of manual and automated operations for the collection, coding and processing of data
• Evaluates collection and coding methods, procedures and results and recommends alternatives
• Provides assistance and advice to users on methods and practices of collection and coding
• Participates on data collection and operations teams
• Provides input to training materials concerning data collection operations and assists in training delivery
Operations Coordinator are expected to perform the following duties:
•Coordinates and organizes the implementation, conduct and maintenance of manual and automated operations for the collection, coding and processing of data.
•Reviews and documents operational processes and assesses the quality and application of data outputs in order to propose solutions or explain results.
•Provides advice to users on the methods and procedures related to statistical operations services.
•Participates as a statistical operations representative on various teams and working groups.
•Leads the activities of work groups involved in different stages of data collection operations.
Data Production & Dissemination Officers are expected to perform the following duties:
• Edits, validates, markets and disseminates data
• Interprets client information requests to create custom statistical tabulations
• Reviews and assesses data quality from new and modified computer systems and databases
• Provides statistical data and consultative services to users
• Participates on data production and dissemination teams, including preparing and maintaining comprehensive documentation regarding the data production and dissemination processes
• Provides input to training material and assists in the delivery
Data Production and Dissemination Coordinators are expected to perform the following duties:
• Coordinates and organizes the retrieval, editing, validation, marketing and dissemination of data.
• Provides custom tabulations and time-series information for ad-hoc client requests.
• Recommends improvements to statistical methods and procedures and implements changes to processing systems and applications to manipulate, store and retrieve statistical data.
• Provides subject matter advice and direction to users on matters relating to subject-matter concepts.
• Participates as a subject area representative on various teams and working groups.
• Leads work groups established to coordinate and implement program activities.

Successful completion of two years of a post-secondary program with acceptable specialization in social science*, statistics, library/archival work** or a law-related field.
* "Social science" includes: economics, political science, sociology, anthropology, history, psychology, geography, criminology and other disciplines associated with social science.
** "Library/archival work" includes gallery and museum type functions.
OR
An acceptable combination*** of education, training and/or experience.
*** Acceptable combination:
-Successful completion of 1 year post-secondary education and statistical/social science/library/archival work/law-related field related work experience normally acquired over 1 year (full-time); OR
