Assessment accommodation

Do you have strong written communication skills in English and French? Are you interested in managing content that supports the delivery of Government of Canada services to the public? If you answered “yes” to both questions, this opportunity might be for you. Service Canada provides the Canadian public with a single point of access to a wide range of Government of Canada services and benefits. We are working with our partners to make these services and benefits even more accessible.

Program Advisors provide editing, translation and other linguistic services to the Integrated Content Management (ICM) unit. They work closely with content management specialists to ensure that all written material produced by the ICM unit is of appropriate linguistic quality, clear and equivalent in both official languages. This position is ideal for someone who wants experience in editing and linguistic services; it provides an opportunity to learn about Government of Canada writing and editing practices and standards.

The assessment of candidates should take place in five (5) phases:

Phase 1 – Analytical and Problem Solving Exercise (APSE)

We will assess Judgement (Essential Qualification) via an Analytical and Problem Solving Exercise (APSE). This test will be administered electronically by a third-party test administrator (EPSI). The evaluation will take place in September.

Phase 2 – Situational Judgement Test for Professional (SJT-PRO)

We will assess the following competencies via a Situational Judgement Test (SJT-PRO): Working with Others, Initiative and Action Oriented, and Thinking Things Through (Essential Qualifications). This test will be administered electronically by a third-party test administrator, (EPSI). The evaluation should take place in September-October.

Phase 3 – Second Language Evaluation (SLE). The evaluation should take place in October-November.

Phase 4 – References. The evaluation should take place in November.

Phase 5 – Written test. The evaluation should take place in November-December.
