The Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) is an independent agency of the Government of Canada, established in 1987 to contribute to the safety and soundness of the Canadian financial system. Intent of the process

The immediate need is to staff one position with a language requirement of bilingual imperative CBC/CBC on an indeterminate basis.

This selection process may be used to establish a pool of partially qualified and/or qualified candidates, which could be used to staff similar positions at the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
- Successful completion of post-secondary education OR completion of secondary education and approximately 5 years of applicable work experience.

Degree equivalency

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
- Recent* and significant** experience providing administrative support services to an Executive*** in all of the following areas:
a) Managing an Executive*** calendar;
b) Ensuring proper document management using an electronic filing system;
c) Coordinating and managing the flow of information for approvals;
d) Compiling documents and preparing meeting packages;
e) Preparing straight forward correspondence to key stakeholders;
f) Proofreading documents such as briefing notes, memos and routine correspondence for quality assurance purposes;
g) Posting required information in appropriate electronic system (intranet, shared electronic filing system).

- Recent* and significant** experience in the administration of a budget including tracking and paying invoices as well as preparing budget reports and forecasts using SAP or a similar electronic financial management system.

- A minimum of 2 years of experience in :
a) Planning and coordinating logistics for meetings and events;
b) Making travel arrangements;
c) Taking meeting notes or minutes.

*Recent is defined as within the last 3 years
**Significant experience is defined as experience normally acquired by continuously exercising the functions for a period of 5 years or more
***Executive is defined as Director level or equivalent level and above

- Successful completion of post-secondary education in office administration, human resources or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.

ASSET EXPERIENCE
- Experience providing administrative support services to a Senior Executive (Director General or equivalent level and above) within the Federal Public Service
- Experience using SAP for budget administration and forecasting purposes
- Experience making travel arrangements using STS and in line with Government of Canada policies and procedures
- Experience leading the administrative support activities in a complex and large-scale project involving multiple stakeholders
- Experience working in a human resources environment.

OSFI's Ottawa location is downtown with easy access to shopping, restaurants, gyms, financial institutions and more. The building is less than a five minute walk from LRT and STO stops.

As a Separate Agency, the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) appoints employees in accordance with the Public Service Employment Act (PSEA). OSFI is named in Schedule V of the Financial Administration Act (FAA) and it offers the same pension and benefits plans as the core Federal Public Service. In addition to this, OSFI employees obtain a minimum of 4 weeks of vacation leave per year, earn a competitive salary, and are eligible for an annual performance bonus.
