The Department of National Defence (DND) manages a large real estate portfolio of approximately 20,000 buildings, 20,000 structures such as roads, runways, training areas and 2.1 million hectares of land. The role of the Real Property Operations Unit (Quebec) and its detachments within the Department of National Defence is to manage real estate assets in the Quebec Region.

As a Real Property Advisor, you will play a strategic role in the planning and life cycle management of the department's real property assets. You will be part of a dynamic team focused on client service and the implementation of portfolio modernization initiatives. You will be responsible for acquisition and disposal projects from analysis to closing. You can expect to take on significant challenges and have a direct long-term impact on the success of our organization.

Education:
Post-secondary degree in the field of property management, administration or any other
relevant related field.

Degree equivalency

Experience:
Relevant experience in advising management on real estate transactions.
Relevant Experience in the acquisition and disposal of commercial real estate assets.
Relevant experience in one or many of the following activities: Market value analysis of real estate, financial analysis of projects, management of operating budgets, management of leases, negotiation of contracts and tenders.
Relevant Experience with a real property data management system.
Experience in Human resource management.

Knowledge:
Knowledge of the laws, policies, directives and regulations applicable to the management of federal real property in Quebec.
Knowledge in project management.
Knowledge of real estate legislation.

Abilities:

Education:
University degree (baccalaureate or master's degree).

Degree equivalency

Experience acquiring and disposing of real property for federal government.

Willingness to obtain a DND 404 driver's licence.

Conditions of employment

Security clearance level: Reliability

Be a holder of a valid Class 5 driver’s licence of the province of Quebec or the Canadian provincial or territorial equivalent.
Ability and willingness to work overtime as required.
Ability and willingness to travel outside the unit’s area.
