Intent
The intent of this process is to staff one indeterminate position. A pool of qualified candidates may be created and may be used to staff similar positions within various units and locations with the Department of National Defence.

Education:
- A secondary school diploma or employer-approved alternatives:
o A satisfactory score on the Public Service Commission test approved as an alternative to a secondary school diploma; or
o An acceptable combination of education, training and/or submarine experience.
Experience:
- Experience in maintaining acoustic data for tracking and analysis purposes
- Experience in producing Acoustic intelligence (ACINT) products
- Experience with submarine sensors and operations
- Experience using acoustic analysis software

Asset Qualifications
Certification:
- Advanced Acoustic Analysis Courses (Canadian or Allied equivalent)
- Submarine Sonar Control Supervisor Course (Canadian or Allied equivalent)
Experience:
- Experience providing support to acoustic research and development studies in laboratory and/or field environments
- Experience leading a project team
- Experience providing Quality Assurance (QA) of submarine sourced ACINT to be included in a national-level publication
- Experience supervising personnel
- Experience with reviewing submarine acoustic data
- Experience creating and presenting briefing materials for senior personnel
- Experience with assessing and refining acoustic analysis techniques
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of the analytical methodology, background theories, principles or practices of acoustic analysis
- Knowledge of submarine operations
