The Agency’s intent is to staff 2 positions on an indeterminate or term basis. As a result of this process, a pool of qualified candidates may be created to staff similar positions at the EC-05 group and level on an indeterminate or specified period (acting, specified period appointment, assignment or secondment), with various linguistic profiles and various security requirements at the Impact Assessment Agency.
Candidates involved in this selection process may also be considered for an assignment, a secondment or an acting appointment of less than 4 months, while this process is being completed.

EDUCATION:
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in economics, sociology or statistics.
Notes:
1.Candidates must always have a degree. The courses for the specialization must be acceptable and may have been taken at a recognized post-secondary institution, but not necessarily within a degree program in the required specialization. The specialization may also be obtained through an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience in developing briefing notes, reports, or memos related to one or more of the following:
• environmental or impact assessment;
• Indigenous or public consultation;
• Indigenous affairs; or
• social or economic impacts of proposals or policies.
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of environmental / impact assessment principles, methodologies and practices.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
Graduation with a master’s degree or doctor of philosophy degree (PhD) from a recognized university with acceptable specialization in Economics, Sociology or Statistics.
EXPERIENCE:
Experience supporting or leading consultations or negotiations with government officials, Indigenous communities/organizations, or the public.
Experience monitoring and analyzing issues related to Indigenous affairs, public consultation or environmental / impact assessment.
Experience participating in *environmental / impact assessments.
Experience working with Indigenous communities and organizations.
Experience planning or conducting public hearings or public consultation processes.
Experience conducting gender-based analysis.
Experience conducting social or economic policy analysis related to the natural resource sector.
*Environmental / impact assessment means a process to predict and assess the environmental effects of a proposed project before it is carried out. It is not to be mistaken for other environmental studies, such as:
Environmental site assessments that are used to identify the nature and extent of contaminants at a given site; or
Environmental audits that are used to evaluate the environmental management and regulatory compliance of an existing operation.
KNOWLEDGE:
Knowledge of federal government priorities, initiatives, policies, practices and issues related to consultation with the public or Indigenous groups.
Knowledge of the principal trends and issues shaping Canada’s social and economic future and priorities, policies and programs as they relate to these trends
Knowledge of social or economic impact assessment principles, methodologies and practices.
