The Operational Risk Division is seeking a highly motivated individual to join the Toronto Office in the position of Principal Analyst. The position will be part of a team involved in the review of Federally Regulated Financial Institutions’ (FRFIs’) operational risks and operational risk management functions. The position will also assist in planning, determining the scope and conducting supervisory assessments of FRFIs’ operational risks and operational risk management programs to support on-going assessments. This includes risk-based profiling of risks reviews, monitoring specified FI’s and assessing processes used by FRFIs to address these risks.
The Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) is an independent agency of the Government of Canada, established in 1987 to contribute to the safety and soundness of the Canadian financial system. OSFI supervises and regulates federally registered banks and insurers, trust and loan companies, as well as private pension plans subject to federal oversight.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
• A degree from a post-secondary institution with specialization in business, commerce, economics, finance, risk management or other relevant field OR an acceptable combination of relevant professional industry experience and education.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
• Recent and significant experience in the financial services industry*, in one of the following areas:
o Business operations or technology operations
o Risk Management or a related control function (e.g. compliance)
o Business Continuity Management
o Internal Audit/ External Audit
o Third Party Risk Management
o Supervision/ examination of financial institutions
* Financial services industry includes experience working in a financial institution, including banks, insurance companies, pension funds, wealth management firms, and accounting firms (dealing with audits), as well as government departments that directly deal with the supervision and regulation of these institutions, or other relevant areas.
