As an audit manager (AS-07), you will:
• Proactively lead multiple concurrent projects and teams to deliver on the Risk-based Audit Plan.
• Effectively manage resources including leading and mentoring a multi-disciplinary team.
• Develop partnerships and work collaboratively with peers, partners and stakeholders to provide value-added assurance, advice and insights that promote positive change.
• Promote the well-being, strategic management and continuous improvement of the internal audit organization.

A pool of qualified candidates will be created to staff similar positions within Innovation Scince and Economic Development Canada with various tenures (indeterminate, deployment, acting, specified period, assignment, secondment).

A response to a text question addressing the following:
Education :
Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with acceptable specialization in accounting, finance, business or public administration, economics, commerce or some other specialty relevant to the position.
Experience :
Recent* and significant** experience leading all phases of audit projects, including planning, conducting, reporting.
Recent* and significant** experience in preparing written materials (such as reports, presentations and/or briefing notes), including a wide variety of audit-related documents, for senior/executive level management.
Experience in managing human resources***.
Experience in conducting multiple audit projects concurrently.
Recent* and significant** experience in presenting advice and recommendations including audit findings, and presenting audit conclusions and recommendations, to senior/ executive level management, or Audit Committee.
*Recent experience is defined as experience normally associated with performance of duties within the last 5 years.
**Significant experience is defined as the depth and breadth of experience normally associated with full-time performance of duties for a minimum of 3 years.
***Human resources management: Applicants must clearly demonstrate that they have supervised employees, assigned work, managed and assessed performance, set team priorities and performance objectives, establish training and learning plans.

Occupational Certification:
Possession of a certification or designation from a recognized professional auditing or accounting organization, such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP), or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE); OR a recognized professional accounting designation (i.e., CPA-CA, CPA-CMA or CPA-CGA).
Experience:
Experience working as an auditor within a Government of Canada organization.
Experience in the development of risk-based audit plans.
Experience managing contracts, including putting a contract in place, oversight and administration of a contract or managing the work of consultants.
Experience in using audit working paper software such as TeamMate.
Experience liaising with other departments, agencies or external organizations, such as the Office of the Comptroller General.
Experience conducting information management and technology audits.
Experience in using ACL and/or IDEA software.
Operational Requirements:
• Willingness and ability to travel when required.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime when required.
