Supervise a team made up of interpreters. Support distribution of tasks. Evaluate work for quality assurance purposes.
Ensure onsite coordination of interpretation activities during major events, or as required.
Establish and manage the quality assurance process for interpretation.
Support the training of interpretation students and new staff members, as well the continuing education of staff interpreters. Develop learning and work tools, organise and coordinate training and professional development workshops.

The Translation Bureau is a Special Operating Agency of Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC). It supports the government of Canada in its efforts to serve Canadians and communicate with them in both official languages.
The interpretation sector supports Parliament, departments and federal government agencies by providing services in official, foreign, indigenous and sign languages.
The Bureau aims to be a centre of excellence in language services. The foundation of its modernized vision rests on several initiatives. This includes strengthening employee wellbeing; improving service quality; reaching out to professional associations, universities and clients; planning and managing resources effectively; and, lastly, conducting research and development in automatic translation and artificial intelligence.
A pool of fully qualified candidates can be established through this process to fill identical or similar positions within the Translation Bureau with various security and duration requirements (permanent or temporary).

Education
A degree from a recognized post-secondary institution, or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or interpretation experience.*
* “acceptable combination” means that candidates have a minimum of two (2) years of post-secondary education and five (5) years of experience in the field of interpretation.
Experience:
At least five (5) years of experience as an interpreter or as a professional translator.
Asset Education
A bachelor’s or master's degree in translation or a master’s degree in conference interpretation from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Asset Professional Certification:
Translation Bureau accreditation as an interpreter
Asset experience:
Experience supervising a team of language professionals
Bilingual - Imperative (CCC/CCC)

Preference will be given to veterans and to Canadian citizens, in that order, with the exception of a job located in Nunavut, where Nunavut Inuit will be appointed first.
