Intent of the process

The immediate intent of this poster is to fill one (1) position.

A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff similar positions at this group and level with various language requirements (English Essential or Bilingual Imperative), various security requirements, various conditions of employment as well as various tenures (acting, assignment/secondment, deployment, term and/or indeterminate) within Crown-Indigenous Relations and Northern Affairs Canada and Indigenous Services Canada.

Graduation with a degree in nursing from a recognized post-secondary institution.*

For greater certainty, also included are institutions authorized to grant specific academic credentials for specific academic programs.

OCCUPATIONAL CERTIFICATE
Eligibility for registration as a registered nurse in a province or territory of Canada.

EXPERIENCE
Recent* and Significant** experience as a Registered Nurse in the area of practice of community health nursing including Primary Health Care.

Recent* is defined as within the last five (5) years.

Significant** is defined as at least two (2) years’ experience with performing complex activities related to this task in a wide variety of situations.

Experience in providing health care services to Indigenous people and/or Indigenous communities.

Experience in managing human and financial resources.

Experience working with or building partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Reliability Status security clearance.

A valid license to practice nursing in the province of Ontario with a CNO designation of Entitled to Practice.

Willingness and ability to complete mandatory education/training relevant to the position.

Medical Clearance (depending where the appointed candidate is physically located):

a) A valid Category 3 pre-placement medical clearance (including dependents, if applicable) in accordance with Appendix A of the Occupational Health Evaluation Standard (http://www.tbs-sct.gc.ca/pol/doc-eng.aspx?id=12561&section=text)
b) Agree to undertake a Category 3 pre-placement periodic health evaluation in accordance with Appendix A of the Occupational Health Evaluation Standard Schedule

d) For persons proposed for relocation to an isolated post/remote location and who have
