The IT Security Advisor will provide specialized advice and recommendations to clients on IT security program issues, policies, guidelines and standards and regarding the development of related secure electronic service delivery processes and tools for internal and external clients and stakeholders.
FCAC has it’s own classification system (RE and REX). This position is classified at the RE-05 which is equivalent to an CS-03.

The intent of this process is to staff an indeterminate position.
Positions to be filled: 1
Your résumé.
A covering letter in 2,000 words (maximum)
Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
Recent* experience in conducting IT security analysis, research AND preparing reports;
Recent* experience in conducting Security Assessment and Authorization (SA&A);
Experience in contributing to the development of an IT Security Program, including security awareness, development AND implementation of policy instruments (e.g., policies, directives, standards), development of technical documentation, processes AND procedures; and
Experience in providing recommendations on IT security to management.
*Recent experience is defined as an experience that was attained within the last three (3) years.
IT Security certification (e.g. CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISK)
Experience working in a multi-platform environment (e.g., Linux, Windows);
Experience in developing AND maintaining PowerShell scripts;
Experience with enterprise grade cloud solution implementation;
Experience working with IT security technologies such as virtual private networks, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, intrusion prevention systems or anti-virus;
Experience in mobile IT devices security; and
Experience supporting remote offices.
Bilingual - Imperative (CBC/CBC)

Knowledge of security measures and technologies (e.g., firewall, virtual private networks, intrusion detection systems)
Knowledge of Canadian Centre for Cyber Security IT Security Guidance (ITSG-33) IT Security Risk Management: A Lifecycle Approach and IT.
