Duties

The Advisor of the Insurance Supervision Sector’s (ISS) Central Operations Team is accountable for managing OSFI wide and ISS sector priorities, timelines, and workflows related to planning, monitoring, reporting, and communication.The incumbent must work independently to stay informed of significant operational activities in other sectors and support the Director in making other sectors aware of similar significant activities within ISS. There is an additional responsibility for identifying and providing solutions to the complex challenges and managing stakeholder operations. Change management initiatives, management of projects, and communications across ISS will be required as part of the operational responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
• A degree from a post-secondary institution specializing in accounting, actuarial science, business, commerce, computer science, economics, mathematics or another relevant field OR a combination of education, experience and/or training.

Degree equivalency

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
• Recent and significant experience working in operations, financial planning, analysis of the business operations, or performing operational tasks/initiatives, within the financial services sector*, regulatory body or other relevant government department or agency.
• Significant experience communicating with senior-level decision makers.
• Experience in project management.

* Financial services sector experience is defined as experience working in a financial institution, including banks, trust and loan companies and insurance companies, and firms dealing with financial services audits or consulting engagements, as well as government departments that directly deal with the supervision and regulation of these institutions or other related areas.
