Duties

• Obtains, inputs, maintains and extracts data, reports and documentation related to applications, claims, files, and other administrative forms.
• Verifies and validates data and documentation for authenticity, accuracy, completeness and compliance with legislation, to support the determination of eligibility and entitlement.
• Searches, reviews and compares information from applications, system-generated reports and other sources, identifies gaps and discrepancies, and contacts clients to obtain missing information and clarifications.
• Communicates with clients and their representatives, external organizations (e.g., accounting firms, Canada Revenue Agency, provincial authorities) and third parties in writing and verbally to obtain and provide client-specific information, to explain provisions of program-specific legislation.
• Refers specific cases to the appropriate level for decision as per prescribed procedures and guidelines.
• Performs other administrative functions in support of program delivery, such as preparing documentation, organizing meetings, and scheduling client information sessions.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to create a pool of qualified candidates at the CR 04 level to staff positions within Benefits Delivery Services and Integrity Services in Edmonton, Alberta. This pool could also be used to staff similar positions of various tenures (including acting) within Employment and Social Development Canada in Edmonton.

Initially a random selection among applications may be made. Randomly selected applicants will be assessed and those who meet all the essential qualifications will be placed in the qualified pool. Subsequent random selections from the remaining inventory and assessments may be conducted at a later date, and qualified candidates will be added to the same pool to fill future vacancies.

EDUCATION:
Secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

Note: You will be required to provide proof of education by providing a copy and/or showing the assessment team a copy of your High School Diploma or an official transcript (signed and dated) which clearly indicates the highest secondary school grade successfully completed. If you have completed post- secondary education, such as a degree or diploma, from a recognized post- secondary institution, then proof of completion may also be accepted as proof of education in lieu of a copy of your high school diploma. A top down approach may be used to identify candidates for each phase of the assessment process. Responses to the screening questions will be scored based on a quantitative rating scale. Scores will be determined based on the depth and breadth of experience demonstrated in your responses to the screening questions.

The assessment board may choose to further assess only those candidates who meet certain asset criteria.

Candidates not invited to the first assessment phase may be given further consideration at a later stage.
