We are looking for people who think independently, has great attention to detail, work creatively and enjoy working in a team environment to support the priorities of the department. As a Senior Business Officer, you will be challenged to build relationships with clients and work collaboratively with project officers to manage a portfolio of projects including claims for payments, annual cashflow requirements and compliance with legal agreements.

The intent is to staff one Indeterminate position.

Education:
• Completion of post-secondary degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable concentration in Commerce, Finance, Business, or related field.
Experience:
Recent* and significant** experience:
• Reviewing financial statements or other financial analysis to evaluate financial sustainability of organizations
• Managing project agreements and monitoring progress throughout the lifecycle of a project;
• Experience in auditing financial records or in evaluating compliance with contract terms and conditions.
• Building collaborative working relationships with senior public and/ or private sector stakeholders.
• Providing strategic advice and recommendations to senior management
*Recent is defined as relevant experience gained within the past five years.
**Significant is defined as relevant experience normally acquired through the full time performance of duties for at least two years.
Knowledge:
• Knowledge of reviewing/interpreting financial statements.
• Knowledge of financial audit/analysis procedures
• Knowledge of Excel

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
• Graduation with a master’s degree from a recognized post-secondary institution with a specialization in Commerce, Finance, Business or Public Administration
• A recognized professional accounting designation
Experience:
• Engaging diverse stakeholder groups;
• Experience in delivering or developing initiatives through Grants and Contributions programs;
• Experience processing financial claims under a Contribution Agreement model; and
• Depth, breadth and scope of experience in any one or combination of the experience requirements.
Knowledge:
• of Transfer Payment Policy and related policy governing the delivery of repayable or non-repayable Contributions in a Regional Development Agency context; and
• of key project or stakeholder management systems used in WD, e.g., Microsoft Dynamic CRM, Adobe Writer, Project Gateway, etc.
