Under Shipbuilding and Materiel, the Vessel Procurement Directorate is looking for motivated people eager to support our country and communities in the delivery of shipbuilding and vessel procurement projects as part of our mandate to revitalize Canada’s fleet through the Fleet Renewal Plan.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff five (5) positions. A pool of qualified candidates may be established and used to fill similar positions with various tenures, security profiles and linguistic/language requirements within Fisheries and Oceans Canada/Canadian Coast Guard.

ALL STREAMS:
Ex 1 - Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (including MS Outlook or comparable e-mail suite, MS Word and MS Excel)
Ex 2 - Experience liaising with internal and external clients or stakeholders

STREAM 1 - PROJECT MANAGEMENT:
Ex 3 – Experience researching and synthesizing information from multiple sources and writing analysis, briefings or reports to management.
Ex4 - Experience applying project management principles in a project environment

STREAM 2 - FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT:
Ex 5 - Experience updating and maintaining financial forecast, budgets or project costing
Ex 6 - Experience providing financial management support such as coordinating or analyzing financial data or producing reports.

STREAM 3 - CONTRACT MANAGEMENT:
Ex 7 - Experience supporting the management of contracts, including confirming deliverables were received, verifying or coordinating the verification of invoices, or, coordinating payments against contract deliverables.
Ex 8 - Experience coordinating contract management deliverables, in the shape of documents, services, goods or construction.

AEd 1 – Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCE:

STREAM 1 – PROJECT MANAGEMENT
AEx 1 - Experience with MS Project.
AEx 2 - Experience drafting or editing Project Management documentation, including but not limited to Risk Register or Project Charter or Project Brief or Project Management Plan, or secondary Plans (HR Management Plan, Communications Management Plan, Stakeholders Management Plan, etc.).
AEx 3 - Experience supporting the management of a Major Project*.

STREAM 2 – FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
AEx 4 - Experience supporting the financial management of a Major Project*.

STREAM 3 – CONTRACT MANAGEMENT
AEx 5 - Experience drafting or supporting the development of contracting documentation.
AEx 6 - Experience supporting a bid evaluation process.

STREAMS 2 AND 3 - FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT AND CONTRACT MANAGEMENT
AEx 7 - Experience working in a project management environment.

DEFINITION:
*A Major project is defined as the delivery of assets, infrastructure or services with national impact, exceeding a budget of $100 million dollars, and involving multiple stakeholders.
