Located on historic Sparks Street and nestled in the hustle and bustle of the downtown core, the Privy Council Office (PCO) provides a great location close to parking and public transit.
In its role as the department supporting the Prime Minister and Cabinet, the PCO helps the government to implement its vision, goals and decisions in a timely manner. This process will be used to staff the above-mentioned position(s). A pool of qualified candidates may be created to staff similar positions within Privy Council Office with various language requirements, and various tenures. The pool of qualified candidates may also be open to other Government Departments.

EDUCATION
ED: Successful completion of two years of an acceptable post-secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management or another specialty relevant to the position to be staffed.
EXPERIENCE
EX1: Experience in working with clients to develop IM/IT solutions to meet business needs.
EX2: Recent* and Significant** experience leading or coordinating work of multidisciplinary teams in the delivery of IT services.
EX3: Experience implementing and planning IT infrastructure projects or upgrades related to IT infrastructure or operations.
EX4: Recent* and significant** experience supporting IT infrastructure and/or IT projects and/or IT Software Development in an operational environment including interacting directly with clients.
EX5: Recent* experience assessing how changing business needs affects existing systems and preparing impact assessment and recommendation documents.
*Recent experience means experience obtained within the last five (5) years.
**Significant experience is defined as having a minimum of two (2) years and will be evaluated with regard to, the complexity and diversity of the work handled, and the level of autonomy demonstrated.

ASSET CERTIFICATION
AC1: Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) v3 or v4 Foundations certificate.
EXPERIENCE
AEX1: Experience leading a HelpDesk or supporting a Call Centre
AEX2: Experience implementing or supporting enterprise IT infrastructure services (e.g., IT service management, desktops, servers).
AEX3: Experience supervising teams, including planning, coordination, and assessment of the work performed by employees and/or contractors in an IT environment.
AEX4: Experience developing and implementing IT infrastructure standards.
AEX5: Recent* experience in coordinating Incident Management activities including communicating with multiple technical and non-technical stakeholders, organizing group meetings, managing client follow-up, and ensuring completion of all Incident Management activities such as Incident Reports.
AEX6: Experience analyzing information, developing briefing materials (such as reports, briefing notes, decks), and making recommendations to management
AEX7: Experience in the execution of IT Security assessment activities as part of a certification and accreditation or security assessment and authorization program.
AEX8: Experience in the production of threat & risk assessment reports
AEX9: Experience in the delivery of IT Security awareness and training
AEX10: Experience in the development of frameworks and best practices in applications development and data administration
AEX11: Experience in the development of solution architecture
AEX12: Experience in providing strategic advice and recommendations on IM/IT topics and trends to ***management.

OPRATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Willing and able to work overtime.
