Detachment Services Assistant provides administrative and operational support services for police officers and other employees at a Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) detachment. This position also provides front counter and telephone assistance, services and information to the general public.
The intent of this process is to staff one (1) permanent position in Whitecourt, AB.
A pool of qualified candidates may be established and may be used to staff future indeterminate and/or temporary vacancies in Whitecourt, AB within the RCMP.

Successful completion of two years of secondary school (high school), or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.
* Proof of education will be required prior to appointment
Experience maintaining an electronic or hard copy filing system in an office environment.
Experience in using computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, or databases.
Experience providing service to internal or external clients / general public, via telephone or in person.
Ability to communicate effectively in writing.
Experience working in a law enforcement or legal environment.
Training and/or experience in providing financial support services such as the collection and recording of monies received, handling petty cash funds, verifying supplier invoices, preparing invoices, verifying and correcting financial claims.
Experience in manipulating data in an electronic database.
English essential

Reliability Status security clearance - Those selected must meet and maintain the above condition of employment throughout their employment.
