The Principal Publisher (PP) is the central governing body overseeing the design, structure, analytics and quality of the Canada.ca site. PP is responsible for the daily operation of the website including the provision of support services for approved GC initiatives, such as but not limited to: Managed Web Services, Hosted Internet Search Solution, Social Media Account Management, Web Analytics, and mobile applications.

Intent of the process

The intent of this process is to staff two positions and one anticipatory.

A pool of candidates may be created and used to staff similar positions within ESDC with various tenures.

Virtual work may be a possibility for certain position(s).

EDUCATION

Successful completion of two years (2) of an acceptable post- secondary educational program in computer science, information technology, information management OR an acceptable combination* of education, training and/or experience.

*An acceptable combination could be a diploma from a postsecondary educational program and at least three years of Information Technology (IT) experience.

Degree equivalency

EXPERIENCES

Experience in providing advice, recommendations and technical support to various stakeholders concerning the resolution of various IT problems.

Experience in analyzing business requirements and/or technical documentation.

ASSET QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working with Adobe Experience Manager.

Experience working with Web Experience Tool (WET).

Experience* in designing, developing, testing, maintaining and implementing IM/IT solutions and/or services.

Experience working with open source software and solutions.

Knowledge of programming techniques and several programming languages, including Javascript, jQuery, HTML5 and CSS.

Candidates must meet all the essential criteria in order to be appointed.
However, applicants may be required to meet the asset qualifications or the organizational needs, depending on the requirements of the specific position being staffed.

What is a top-down selection? It is where only the top scoring candidates will be invited to the next stage of the assessment. Please note that different pass marks and cut-off scores can be used at various stages of the assessment process. Candidates who attain the pass mark might not be further considered in the process if they do not achieve the cut-off score.

We ask for your collaboration to ensure an efficient process but we will also try to provide some flexibility. We will not consider requests for rescheduling beyond the reasons we will outline to candidates.
