Duties

Team Leader:

• Is responsible for reviewing and verifying of all incoming and outgoing requests; determine and analyze requirements; coordinate and manage documents/requests, dissemination and tracking.

• Oversees the work of one or more administrative staff assigned to his/her area by distributing work, ensuring workload balance, providing technical guidance and preparing employee performance reviews.

• Produces a variety of documents and correspondence, such as replies to e-mails, event invitations, meeting minutes, administrative procedures, etc. This requires effective written communication, attention to detail and familiarity with writing conventions appropriate to the type of document.

• Participate in/lead working groups related to operational administrative services; collaborate with planning teams on related projects and issues.

The ideal candidate is a supportive team player who can build effective relationships with people at all levels, including senior management. This requires etiquette, tact and discretion, as well as effective oral and written communication in both official languages.

Intent of the process

The intent of this selection process is to establish a pool of qualified or partially qualified candidates that will be used to staff Team Leader positions or similar positions with various tenures, various security requirements and various language profiles. By default and in the interest of the greater public service, pools created as a result of collective selection processes at SSC may be shared with other government departments.

Education: successful completion of two (2) years of secondary school;
